September is a great month; it contains Labor Day, the start of Fall, and more. It’s made even better because of all the Cobb County events as well!

Smyrna Food Truck Tuesdays: at Taylor-Brawner Park (3180 Atlanta Road, Smyrna, 30080) Tuesdays from 5:00 -9:00 p.m. The City of Smyrna, Georgia Power, and Cobb Travel & Tourism have powered up to bring you this event, along with lots of entertainment and fun. Smyrna Fresh Produce & Music Market: In the Smyrna First Baptist Church parking lot (1275 Church Street, Smyrna, 30080) on Saturdays from 8 a.m.-noon. It’s a local farmers’ market where you can stock up on all your fresh fruits and veggies. To participate as a market vendor, contact Keep Smyrna Beautiful at 770-431-2863.

The Marietta Square Farmers Market: Gathers an average of over 60 vendors on Saturdays and over 25 on Sundays. Offers a variety of fresh, locally grown, seasonal produce, and garden products. Marietta Square Art Walk: (formerly the First Friday Art Walk) The Art Walk is a free, self-guided tour showcasing local original art. Enjoy late-night shopping, patio dining, fine art and live music around every corner. Local artists are hosted by Marietta Square area restaurants, galleries, museums, venues and boutiques; participating venues display an official Art Walk banner in their window. 33rd Annual Atlanta Home Show: At the Cobb Galleria Centre September 9th-11th. The Galleria transforms into a one-stop shop for all your home improvement needs. This year’s event includes the all-new Outdoor Living Expo. Friday & Saturday from 10 a.m.-6 p.m., and Sunday noon-6 p.m. For more information, visit

Free Hip Hop & Hope Dance Party: At Smyrna Christian Church (910 Concord Rd.) September 11th. For kindergarten through fifth grade kids and their families: Free food, games, prizes, and dancing. From 5:30-7 p.m. There will be a super hero party as well, Sunday September 18th, from 5:30-7 p.m. Wear your favorite costume, come meet super heroes, and enjoy a free dinner, games, & fun!

Kindermart Children’s Consignment Sale: September 16th and 17th, at Smyrna First United Methodist Church (1315 Concord Rd.) Shoppers can save big on children’s clothes, coats, toys, baby gear, strollers, car seats, books, and more! Many items are half price on Saturday. Taste of Smyrna “Festival of Delectable”: At the Village Green and Market Village September 17th, from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Satisfy palates, quench your thirst, enjoy music and entertainment, and please the kids, all in one place! Free admission, and samples can be purchased for $1-4 each.

Mablehouse Free Candlelite Concert: September 17th, at 5239 Floyd Rd., Mableton. Featuring AJ Ghent Band, a soulful indie-rock sound. Their style is fresh, yet reminiscent of music of the past. Tables are available for purchase. Gates open at 7 p.m., and the concert begins at 8.

Glover Park Concert Series: Takes place on the last Friday evening of each month from April to September (September 30th this month). Personal tables can be set up in the street on North Park Square after 6 p.m. but not in Glover Park. The free outdoor concerts take place at 8 p.m. rain or shine.  Enjoy music under the stars, and be sure to bring a picnic and blankets or set up your lawn chairs after 4 pm (no tarps or tents).
